INFO:
Where We Started @ 33 Weeks • Needed C-PAP and caffeine to support breathing—lungs weren’t fully developed yet. • Had feeding tubes for breast milk—instincts to suck and swallow weren’t there. • Needed IVs for extra hydration and medicine. • Lived in an isolette to help maintain body temperature—not enough body fat or shiver reflex. • No baths—too many tubes! Where We Are Now @ 36 Weeks • Breathing completely on our own! • Regulating our body temperature in open beds! • Loving bath time! • Thriving with both breast and bottle feeding! What’s Left to Do: • Master full feeds by mouth—sometimes we still get tired and need feeding tube support. • Maintain our blood oxygen levels in deep sleep—no more caffeine, so it’s all up to the babies now! • Keep gaining weight!
